This is a freakishly weird wheelset. Campy 10spd hub body, Tune Mig/Mag hubset (in gold), Sapim CX-Ray spokes, laced to Velocity Aerohead / Areohead OC rims, with gold alloy nipples. Circa 2008? The headline is 1330g with rim plugs (if you trust my kitchen scale). Front Wheel: No issues. Silky smooth bearings, 20-spoke, laced 2X. Rear wheel: This was my first experiment with triplet lacing. Triplet lacing means the drive-side has twice as many spokes as the non-drive side. In theory, since the non-drive side spokes have less stress, you should be able to use fewer of them. In this case, the 24-spoke wheel has 16 drive-side spokes and 8 non-drive side spokes, creating a virtual 32-spoke wheel. however, this wheel has proven to be unstable. It's OK with a 140lb rider, but not 180lb... very noodle-y. My mistake was crossing the non-drive side spokes to match the front wheel. I am reasonably confident a nice wheelset could be built from these hubs using radial lacing on the non-drive side and increasing the rim depth. Drive side bearings are a bit meh, but all others are good. Before this auction, I thoroughly cleaned and greased/lubed the pawls and ratchet area. In terms of hub bodies, this hub does not use Tune's current standard, but I'm reasonable confident Tune could supply a Shimano hub body for this generation. Starbike has been a good retailer for me. No skewers, no cassette, no tires or tubes. If your interest is solely in the hubs, let me know and I can cut them out instead of shipping a show wheelset.
